On Sunday we announced our upcoming collaboration with Banshee Studios UK to produce a 1:3 scale bust of Frank Sidebottom.
Based on original artwork by Chris Sievey, it is set to be a large and weighty solid resin cast.
It is to be produced in a strictly limited run of 50 pieces and in keeping with Chris Sievey’s DIY ethic, all done by hand, here in the North West of England...not cheaply produced on an overseas factory production line!
We have known sculptor Russell Robie of Banshee Studios for approaching 30 years. He is a passionate, absolute master of sculpting, moulding and casting. His attention to detail is second to none. Starting out, aged 5, he first created Thunderbirds, Trumpton and Planet of the Apes characters from Plasticine, back in 1972. Unsurprisingly, he happens to be a Frank fan too!

Due to the high level of time and effort involved (not to mention expensive raw materials) in producing these busts , they are not going to be cheap. However, in view that 2020 is the 10th anniversary of Chris’s passing, we feel that gives sufficient justification to produce such an exclusive and collectable item.... the ultimate piece of Sidebottom memorabilia that will take pride of place on the mantelpiece!
Please bear with us, the final cost and projected delivery date is yet to be confirmed but we are aiming to deliver this in time for Xmas. Once these details are finalised, we will put the bust up for pre-order.
